Translated by David Du

Chapter 4
The Dao itself is empty and shapeless.
But its function is never ever used up,
Oh, it’s so deep and far-reaching.
As if the Lord of everything, Dao can fold its sharpness,
Dissolve its dissensions, reconcile its shine, mix up
Into the world.
Oh, Dao hides so deeply and invisibly
But as if it absolutely exists.
I don’t know where Dao originates from
It looks like Dao exists before the appearance of God of Heaven.

Please note, David Du is a very respectful frontline nurse at Northwood Long Term Care, the center of Halifax COVID-19 outbreak. He has in-depth knowledge about Ancient Taoism and Chinese Philosophy, practices Buddhism and writes poems in three languages (Chinese, Japanese and English) and tries to take good care of the elders that their off springs are not able to. He knows quite well how dangerous this virus is, but he chooses not to leave the elders alone. Attached is his picture at work.
